"Dear Aimee, I just want to send two photos and a huge thank you for what you do and who you are! I so greatly appreciate you providing us Mom's with "sewible" (is that a word?) patterns that are modest and age appropriate!! I have twin girls whom I've made your faith top for (out of the same material actually), but I've only got one Simple Sunday Dress finished. I wanted to send you a photo just to let you know how very much I appreciate you and your work! I look forward to trying some of your patterns for us Moms! Blessings to you and your family! M"

I was able to make "matching" outfits for my 10, 4 and 2 year old with the dress top, faith double layer top and all in one romper. I have also made the twirl skort and bubble top. Thank you so much for such beautiful patterns!" S

Women's Dress Top Sewing Pattern, New Sewing Pattern, and a get together!

Last week we had our quarterly Adoption Support Group Fellowship at our home. These times together are so awesome! It is great to do life with and connect with other families that have chosen to walk the path of adoption. It is my heart! If interested, you can go here to our orphan adoption blog and see the rest of our day!

One side's view!
(if you look close you can see where I went off a bit on the middle band!)

Reversible side's view!

So I made me another Reversible Women's Dress Top! I used different fabrics as to utilize my "scrap" bag!! I actually wore this to our family movie day to see Ice Age 3. This was the second time I wore something I made for myself in public! The first time was when I was in college! So much fun!

Also, SewSensible Reversible Pleated Dress Top is now available on YCMT! So if you are interested in purchasing my new sewing pattern you can purchase it at my website, my etsy store, YCMT, or at AllBrands!

New Sewing Pattern: Ava Sundress Pattern!

My friend, Nanette, from Nanoo Designs has a new sundress pattern! Go to her blog to see some cute cute tester photos!

Description:
You are going to love how easy this pattern is to make. It's a perfect little dress for everyday play, the beach, birthday parties and special occasions. Adding the optional bow at the back gives it a "boutique" look. Make it unique by mixing and matching fabrics, adding an applique or embroidery design to the front, trim along the border or just plain. Great for warm summer days like we are having here in Louisiana or with a top underneath for cooler seasons.

And my new one is available: SewSensible Reversible Pleated Dress Top sewing pattern! You will love the no handsewing technique to make it reversible!!

New Sewing Pattern: Reversible Pleated Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Believe me, I am working as much as I can to get this pattern released! Having to redraw the graphics has really set me back especially since all the children are home all day and begging for my attention 24/7!! There are only 19 steps to this pattern and I have redrawn all up to step 16 so only 3 more steps to redraw!! Yay!! In the meantime, here is another tester's photo! Too cute!! And how beautiful is this little model!!

Women's Reversible Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Ok! here is my Women's Reversible Dress Top! Well, what do you think? Looks simple and it is!! I need to get some up close shots of the tie and I will not show the back yet! The fit feels great! I just ordered some knit fabric to test on that. So look for more women dress top pictures in the future! And the length can be waist, hip, knee, or ankle! I look forward to making some Mommy and Daughter matching outfits!! Fun Fun!! Fabric: Andalucia by Patty Young!

New Sewing Pattern Reversible Pleated Dress Top!

The Reversible Pleated Dress Top sewing pattern is not quite ready yet but here is one of the tester photos! Ok!! Do you love this! Or could it be that this little girl would make any outfit look cute!! Her little hands look just like the babydoll hands you see on those life size babydolls! so adorable! Her sweet Mom paired this one up with a coordinating pair of Boutique Bottoms too! This pattern should be ready in the next two weeks. It would have been earlier but after the first round of testing I had to go back and change the placement of straps and redraw the top of the bodice. Because I had to redraw the pattern, I will now have to redraw the graphics on the directions which takes time so that is the reason for 14 days! Thanks again to all the testers who did this the first go-round and for you who are doing it the second g0-round!!

I also was able to sew me another dress top for myself !!!!! Hopefully Tommy can take some pictures of me in it today! I am still going to keep the back a secret as long as I can. Maybe I can draw up some different size patterns and get it ready to send out and get some tested on some of you. Leave me a comment if you would like to test it! I will pick the first 10-15 to be fair to you. And if you are a seasoned sewer and are comfortable sewing with silk or any lightweight fabric, I would love this pattern tested with some of those fabrics to make a more date night dress top!!

Finally sewing for me!!

FINALLY sewing something for me!!!!! This started out being the Boutique Dress Top for Women but after I sewed the first one I did not like how the back fit so I got an idea for the back, drew it up and was able to sew it this morning!!!!! I am SEW excited about how this came out! I will cut me another one today and hopefully sew it during naptime! The bottom hem is not sewn yet. I was so excited to try it on that I hurried up and got the children to take pictures of me. The pictures aren't great but they had fun doing it. This was actually taken by my 2yo! I'll have to get Tommy to take some better shots and post those however I will keep the back a secret for now!! Oh, and it is reversible!!!!! Love this!!

New Sewing Pattern and Physical patterns!

Reversible Pleated Dress Top Sewing Pattern update: Testers, I have to tell you that all of you are awesome!! Thanks again for doing this and for those that are still sending emails to help thank you! I do not need anymore testers at this time for this pattern but I am always looking for testers in the future. These comments will help change what I need to change to make this pattern easier to understand and easier to sew! THANK YOU!!!!!

The tester comments are almost all in and no doubt I will have to change the wording on the pleats. This is the most important step for your dress top to sew quickly and easily. I will make those changes this week and I am hoping to have the new release by next week! Above is one tester photo! Look how cute that little girl is! and Mom even made matching Boutique Bottoms! Too cute!

Physical Patterns Update: Also, talked to the press guy and the printing process was delayed until next Monday. Wow! I was on a roll and then patience had to take its place!! So next week looks like a week of new sewing pattern and new physical patterns!

Sewing for me!: Oh, but in the wait at home while the children are running all over playing and trying to keep cool this summer, I did sew me two tops!!!!! It started out as the Women's Boutique Dress Top and on the second one I got the bodice for me right but I am not liking the back on me..... makes me look fat ;) HA!! So I have decided about a different way to do the back! I hopefully will sew another one today!! Fun Fun!!

And I have to say hello to my friend Melanie B.!!!!! So so glad you are back online!!!!! I have thought about you so much and missed you!

Look how sweet these awesome Mommy creations are and how cute those sweet little girls look!

Here is what this Mom said, "I have made several of your patterns before and love them. My daughter just loves wearing them and so do her friends. They usually get a matching one for their birthday. Your patterns were the first clothes I ever tried to sew and LOVE them. They are so easy to follow. I love the step by step visual directions. They really make it easy for a first time sewer."

Thanks so much, S!! Love the outfits and the girls look super cute! Now I want to make my girls some zebra boutique bottoms!! Thanks for your kind words as well!

New Sewing Pattern Reversible Pleated Dress Top!

I have been busy working on the directions and graphics of the new sewing pattern: SewSensible Reversible Pleated Dress Top! I am excited about it and I have purchased the fabric that will be used for the cover. I am in need of some pattern testers. I am looking for two testers in each size: 6m-9m, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. The pattern will just include the reversible pleated dress top and not the shorts as I had talked about before. The only reason is because I just don't have enough room on my direction sheet. However, the Boutique Bottoms pattern can be used. I have a couple more days to get the pattern on a pdf so if you would like to test please know that once you receive the pattern and directions, I am in need of you to test within 3 days of receiving it. Please only respond by making a comment to this post if you are able to do this. Or you can email me at sewsensible@sewsensible.net. Thanks! In Christ, Aimee'

N"

Thank you, N, for the awesome pictures of your Mommy creation!! Your daughter is so cute! I love her in both outfits but the blue outfit really makes her eyes pop! Very beautiful!! Also, thank you for your kind words!!

New Sewing Patterns Paper

back front

back front

back front

We are back from our wonderful family Disney vacation! Weather was good, sunny during the day, very humid and storms in the evening. We had a great time!! We just got back Friday night and I have been trying to catch up ever since. Today I was able to finalize the cover of three patterns: Boutique Dress Top, Boutique Bottoms, and FAITH Double Layer Dress Top. The physical patterns are currently at McCall's printing and I was also able to finalize the directions and new graphics for these three which will go to press this week!! It's exciting!

This week I will also try to finalize the new sewing pattern: Reversible Pleated Dress Top! I hope to have it ready for testing in the next 7 days.

Above are the front and back cover of the physical patterns. The picture you see will be folded in half and put in it's zip bag! I will also be tranisitioning all downloadable patterns with new directions and graphics hopefully in the next 14 days.

New Sewing Pattern and Physical Paper Sewing Pattern

I am trying to find a simple design for the paper pattern covers to distinguish between SewSensible downloadable and SewSensible Physical Paper patterns. This is what I came up with today. It is simple, it still keeps with my original design and I will sit on this for one week and then decide. Once to press, they will be ready in 4 days so I have time to ponder while the patterns are at press.

Three of my patterns are at McCall's right now in the printing process and I am looking at mid June to have the first three SewSensible physical paper patterns ready! I will also have the new Reversible Pleated Dress Top available midJune with the new style graphics/directions. As soon as that one is done it will also go to press/printing along with the Twirl SKORT. This summer will be focused on transitioning all my patterns to physical along with giving all the downloadable ones the new directions/graphics as well! And it is only going to be mid-June for the above because our family vacation is right around the corner so I will be away for a week which I am so happy that each daughter will get three skorts to wear in Disney!! I needed something quick and cute so they will wear each skort with a matching tee and one coordinating ribbon tied to one tee shoulder. Quick, cute, fun, and modest!!!!! (Of course I waited to last minute to finish them...... tonight! Three still need elastic and will have to wait a couple more days..... too busy tomorrow and the next day!

Pray all is well with you!! In Christ, Aimee'

Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Patterns, FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Patterns!

Photography by Amy Fenner Photography

Testers of new directions: Here are some of the awesome tester photos of the new directions that I have been working on for the physical patterns! Testers, you were awesome and thank you so much for testing the new directions, for all your kind comments and for sending me some pictures of your awesome creations and your daughters/granddaughters look so beautiful!! I am excited to say that I have sent three SewSensible patterns to press this morning!

New Sewing Pattern: I have cut out the reversible pleated dress top and will be testing it myself before sending it to actual testers. I am half way through with the directions. I have also sewn and drew up another version of a skort. It is very similar to the Twirl SKORT but it is not a twirl. This new skort will be part of the girls' disney outfits. They will each get hopefully 4 skorts for the trip!! I am taking emails for wholesale vendors who want to be on the update list. If you are interested in getting an update as SewSensible Children's Boutique Sewing Patterns become actual physical patterns, please email me at sewsensible@sewsensible.net

Hope you enjoy the awesome creations above and I really hope you are inspired and encouraged!! Remember, all my patterns are designed with the beginner in mind!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern and New Sewing Pattern!

Here is my sweet sweet niece, Annalyce, modeling her new FAITH Double Layer Dress Top! I made a change to the FAITH dress top (again!) I know!! The one for sale right now is just fine but the size 6m-9m did not have enough room to gather so I changed that and I got rid of the curve on the top layer bottom. If you have FAITH you know what I am talking about. If you don't, don't worry about it if you are looking to buy it. FAITH will still come out looking adorable! I just did not like sewing that curve. The fabric is Jennifer Paganelli Pretty Please! Just a beautiful fabric design! As soon as I get the new pattern on paper for downloadable, you can email me and I will send you the revised copy! Also, do you want to get that cute looking ruffle on the top band of FAITH? All you need to do is instead of a 1/4" seam for first topband topstitch, you will instead go down 1" and make your first top band topstitch. Just make sure before you do your second topstitch that you have enough room for your size elastic which will be either 3/4" or 1". Either work great!!

Oh!! also for a change up of FAITH, do you know you can make a FAITH double layer skirt!!!!! How awesome is that! All you do is leave off the straps and loops and when it is time to add the elastic, just measure your loved ones waist instead and voila! You have a precious double layer skirt!!!!!

Yesterday I was able to draw up FAITH on the big paper and get it ready for press!! How exciting! I will be sending three patterns to press next week: Boutique Dress Top, Boutique Bottoms, and FAITH. I also will be working on the new sewing pattern: Reversible Pleated Dress Top. I am trying very hard to have this one released by the end of May but it may be mid June! As soon as this one is done, it will also go to press. I have the direction graphics done, now to go add the verbage. I also have a lot of great tester pictures from the awesome testers that took their time to test the new directions of the three patterns going to press. I will hopefully put those up in the coming week!!

Great and Exciting news!!: I will be at the next Quilt Market!! Ok, not me physically but my patterns will be!!!!! This is so exciting! I'll give more details midMay!

Today is Tommy's work family picnic and tball! I have also started twittering. Well, I have been twittering but just decided to add SewSensible Twitter. It is such a fun way to communicate in short spurts! It is free if you do not have a twitter account and you can do it from the web and not all from your phone. Just go to http://www.twitter.com/ and join and start twittering!

I pray all of you have a blessed weekend!

But I think that the eggs on the main fabric are kind of abstract and they can wear them all spring! My youngest daugher, is wearing the size 1/2 and my oldest daughter is wearing the size 5/6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pattern and also posted this picture over at sewforum. I can't wait to make some more for summer! Thanks for designing such fabulous and friendly patterns. SewSensible FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern and
Boutique Dress Top Sewing Pattern

"I purchased a few patterns a while back and now have a picture to share. I made matching outfits for my girls and my niece and their dolls. They were sooo easy to make and they turned out beautiful. The girls felt like princesses and were so excited to show them off. They definitely love to match, and we are now planning the next set of outfits. After my battle to thread the machine, everything else was easy. I love the step by step pictures. I am looking forward to buying some more of your patterns. Keep up the great work and I love to look at everyone's wonderful creations. V "

"Aimee, I've been wanting to "write" for over a year now. I've fell in love with your patterns, and everyone who sees my N's outfits has a fit over them! They immediately ask where I purchased them. I've referred several moms and grandmoms to your site. I'm attaching a couple of photos of N wearing some of our creations. One is her Faith double layer top and bottoms in a cherry fabric. The other is her scoop neck top and bottoms with matching Easter basket. It's so fun mixing and matching the coordinating fabrics. May God continue to bless your family! Thanks for sharing your creativity with others. A"
