Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern cover!

Well, I was able to do the cover and now I will focus on getting this available for download this week. I need to redraw the smaller size sleeves first. The physical pattern will not be ready until December. I will give you a better date as soon as I know more. On a side note: my GrandMother went to be with Jesus early this am so I may be a little delayed. Her arrangements are not known yet; however, she was a loving beautiful role model! She lived a long life (90's), had 9 children, many many grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved and served the Lord for as long as I can remember! I love you, MawMaw!!

Scoop Neck Dress Top with long sleeve short sleeve options and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

Look at this cute cute Fall outfit!!!!! Just such a sweet and adorable applique' shirt matched with a pair of Boutique Bottoms!! Love this look! And for all you who do not have an embroidery machine then head on over to YouCanMakeThis! for some cute patterns for sewing machine applique'! And the best part of this outfit is you can do it for little money. The turtlenecks can be purchased for under $5 in some stores. I just purchased some long sleeve solid shirts from Children's Place for under $5. The Boutique Bottoms takes about a yard of fabric and a little more for size 5-6. And with the scraps from the Boutique Bottoms fabric you can make an adorable applique giving you a custom look for your loved one!! This outfit can easily be made for around $10!! Very economical and extremely rewarding!!!!! Let me know if you make any outfits this way and please send the pictures over here to get posted! They will inspire so many!! Aren't you inspired by this picture?!! I know I am!!

I have made them very easy especially for the beginner!!!!! This pattern will be ready as a downloadable hopefully second week of November and as a physical pattern hopefully mid December!! I need to make a few changes to the length of the sleeves for some of the sizes and a few corrections the testers found!

Simple Sunday Dress Sewing Pattern and Beginner Sewing Patterns!

Here is an awesome Mommy creation I had in my inbox since last May!!!!! How could I have overlooked this one!! I'll blame it on having eight children. It is an easy excuse for me but I know it can only work for so long LOL ;) This Mommy used SewSensible Simple Sunday Dress sewing pattern and here is what this Mommy said, "Hi, I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed working from your pattern instructions. I've not been sewing long and so everything was very easy to follow. I wanted to send you a couple photo's of the finished product. I actually changed the pattern just a bit (bigger bow in back and band at bottom ) :o) God Bless! Hope you enjoy the pictures! :o), T"

Thanks so much, T!! Yes, I am enjoying these pictures!! The dresses look beautiful and your girls are just adorable!! Thanks for letting me put this on my blog and so sorry I overlooked this one!!!!! I wonder if I missed some more! I really need to clean out that inbox!

Scoop Neck Dress Top Revisions:

Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern!

Do you remember this cute top?!! I still have it on the drawing board and will definitely be making women tops for next year. And meet my new friend! So all you who have dress forms, do you name her? Might just have to! What friend doesn't have a name?
Here is another Scoop Neck Dress Top with short sleeve (no gathering). (Note: this is the revisions I am working on. They are not ready yet.) This dress was made for a family friend's daughter who reminded me for the past 6 months that she wanted a dress for her birthday! I was able to drop it off to her Mom and Dad yesterday and party is today! I was so excited she wanted one that much!! So here it is. She requested cheetah but I could not find a good cheetah fabric so this animal print worked fine for her! And then I got Grace to try it on and as you can tell she had the giggles! So cute!!

Right now Quilt Market is going on and I am definitely making plans to attend next year! I am such the underdog in the pattern industry but I plan to persevere and continue to swim my way through!! LOL If you want to follow the quilt market you can on twitter. Just search #quiltmarket and you will get some fun updates and the best pictures ever!!!!! Go to twitter.com and sign up for free and search #quiltmarket and you can start following all the ladies who are twittering from market in Houston. And please follow me too! You can either click on the twitter bird on the top right hand corner of this blog or search SewSensible in twitter!

Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern!

Scoop Neck Dress Top with gathered sleeve option

Goal accomplished! Ok, well a goal I had several days ago but I did accomplish it finally today! I was finally able to sew a test of the Scoop Neck Dress Top with option of short gathered sleeves . Just a simple sew! The only thing I am looking at adding is possibly two loops for the side for the ties. I kind of like the way it hangs down when tied (you cannot tell from the picture); however, I noticed it may have bothered Grace when she tried on the dress. She will wear it to a birthday party on Saturday so I will know for sure whether I want to add loops or not. Other than that, I like the outcome! Hopefully it will be in the testers email by next Tuesday. This one is coming a little slower than I would have wanted but it is coming :)

Isn't she adorable!!!!! Here is an awesome Mommy creation using SewSensible Simple Sunday Dress sewing pattern and here is what this Mommy said, "I did it! I finished it today! The Simple Sunday Dress is not a physical pattern yet. It is only downloadable at this time. I have just finished the directions for the revisions of the Scoop Neck Dress Top and will be drawing the pattern in the coming days and hopefully this can be sent to the testers early next week! All of SewSensible Patterns are designed with the beginner in mind. My lines are simple and my directions are clear and easy to read. If you are interested in carrying SewSensible Patterns, please contact me for more information or you may order wholesale from any of the distributors I have listed above this post. Sewing Patterns and Scoop Neck Dress Top with long sleeves!

!!!!! Coming Soon !!!!!

Hello!! Oh I am so missing sewing today especially with all the rain and dark clouds! As most of you know I have three passions that are my life: family, orphans/adoption, and sewing! This past weekend was a long great weekend advocating for some local foster children in our community. You can read more here. We hosted our second Foster Care Match Party on Saturday with 19 children that are available for adoption come and meet families who are interested in adopting. Six of these children were matched with a family!! WoooooHoooo!! Then on Sunday morning and afternoon we had a Heart Gallery display for all HPC services which brings much awareness about children in the foster care system in our communities that have no Mom or Dad. We give many ways that we the people can be a part of these children's lives. Then Sunday night we had our first Round Table Discussion with the topic being older child adoption and transracial adoption. All was great! This week I have been winding down and looking forward to finishing the revisions for the Scoop Neck Dress Top! I hope to have the revisions done by this weekend and send to the testers again!

I pray all is well with you guys and don't forget you can follow me on Twitter (see top right corner of this blog). That has been such a fun way to connect with you and other sewing / crafting women!

Sewing Patterns! and Boutique Bottoms!

I received this wonderful email and just had to share! And, yes, she is so darn cute!! :)

Aimee’, First off let me say that I have almost all of your patterns and I
“heart” them tremendously. I always get TONS of compliments when my daughter wears a mommy made creation from one of your designs. I had to take a quick picture of her this morning before I sent her off to preschool. Mostly because I think she’s so darn cute, but also because I wanted you to know that I whipped up that pair of boutique pants this morning BEFORE I took her to preschool at 9. Yes, this morning. I had the top done, but hadn’t found time to put the pants
together (I usually sew in the evenings after bedtime) because my 5 week old hasn’t been the most cooperative. So this morning I looked at the top, and really wanted her to wear it. I had already made her lunch, and the baby had just drifted off to sleep, and the two older kids were eating breakfast...and I thought...”maybe I’ll have time...”. I got the serger re-threaded by 8:05 and had the pants done by 8:40. Granted, they were already cut out, and I used the ruffler foot, but that’s pretty dang quick! And yes, I topstiched around the ruffle...no shortcuts were taken, all seams were finished. ;) So, thank you for putting together a pattern that’s so stinkin’ easy! The pants ALWAYS turn out great (I’ve made dozens of them) and I can guarantee that when I pick my daughter up from preschool, I’ll have half a dozen mom’s asking when they can place their orders! You ROCK...keep the amazing patterns coming, so that I can look like an amazing seamstress! Sincerely, A

Physical Pattern update
: I received the directions for the Twirl SKORT and Reversible Pleated Dress Top and am waiting on the covers and pattern pieces. They will ship out beginning of this coming week. Creative Smocking is taking pre-orders with free shipping at this time for both of these patterns. About the Scoop Neck Dress Top, I have received my feedback and pictures from the testers and am busy redrawing and adding some revisions. I am half way done with the directions and graphics. I will hopefully be able to send this to the testers again this coming week. I will order my Christmas outfit fabric this weekend because the Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern is definitely the one I will use for my girls' Christmas dresses! So excited! The FAITH has a new simpler design but still giving it the exact same look. I just made an even simpler way to sew it up if it could get any simpler! It is only available on the physical pattern at this time.

Purchasing the Physical Patterns: If you are interested in purchasing SewSensible Children's Boutiqe Sewing Patterns in the physical then you can check out my sidebar with some of the boutique shops that sell them. If you sell them and would like me to list you, please send me an email.

Downloadable Patterns update
: I have not transitioned the new graphics to the downloadable patterns yet. Except for the Reversible Pleated Dress Top, all the downloadable ones still have the original photo and directions. I do plan to transition the new look to downloadable as well in the future. You can still purchase the downloadable patterns at You Can Make This, SewSensible Website, and SewSensible Etsy shop!

Scoop Neck Dress Top Sewing Pattern with Long sleeve and elastic Options

Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern: I have tested the revisions and will be working on the pattern to send out to testers sometime this week. I am really happy about the look. I have made the waist tie in a knot slightly to the left in the front of the dress. In this picture I used the same fabric for waist tie and dress panel. I made the long sleeve option with elastic gathering at end of sleeves (which was requested by almost all testers). I have slightly changed the scoop of the neck to fit better and not as loose. This pattern still runs a little big so if you have a petite daughter, granddaughter or niece you may need to make the smaller size. My daughter Grace above is 4 years old but on the petite side and she is in the size 3,4 which as you can see still has alot of growing room (I am sure that was a run-on sentence of some sort!!) I will definitely be making our girls' Christmas dresses using this pattern!! Can't wait!

Physical Pattern update:
The Twirl SKORT sewing pattern and the Reversible Pleated Dress Top sewing pattern are both in the printing process. I hope to have both of them ready for distribution in two weeks. The Scoop Neck Dress Top with optional short or long sleeve with or without elastic gathered ends and the optional ruffle at bottom of dress will go to testers again this week. I hope to have this one available for distribution beginning to mid October.

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Scoop Neck Dress Top with Long sleeve option sewing patterns!

Ok, I was just so excited to get this test of the revised Scoop Neck Dress Top with optional Long Sleeves! Love it!! Isn't she just beautiful in her custom outfit!! As you can tell, I am a big fan of front bows on a dress top or dress! There will be some changes to the placement of the waist ties. I am thinking about sewing them at the side as to have the option to tie in back but I am a front and a little to the left or right waist tie fan!! I just love the look! And of course I love the long sleeve option and it is so easy to sew!! I am waiting for the other tester comments and pictures and then will make the final changes.

I received an email the other day asking me what was the difference between the downloadable patterns I sell and the physical patterns I am doing. The difference is the downloadable patterns on my site, You Can Make This, my etsy shop and AllBrands is they are a pdf ebook which you print on regular paper including pattern pages and I show you how to lay them side by side, tape and cut for a full pattern. Some of my beginning patterns still have a photo for almost every step which the beginners love! Now for the physical patterns, these are patterns that are being distributed to quilt shops, fabric shops, etc..... These patterns are on tissue paper like you would see in a store with new graphics. The graphics are drawn and not an actual photo but I have tried very hard to still have a graphic for almost every step. And I am always available for anyone via email if you have a question while sewing whether you purchase a downloadable pattern or a physical pattern. The other difference is the pricing. The downloadable prices are $9.95 each with many pattern collection options. The physical patterns you will find online or in stores are $12.50. All of my patterns are designed with the beginner in mind and for the last several years that is the majority of my customers: first time Mommy sewers or very beginner Mommy sewers..... along with some awesome GrandMoms and Aunts too :) Also, on my sidebar I listed where to purchase the downloadable patterns and a list where you can buy the physical patterns. If you are selling SewSensible physical patterns and you would like to be listed, please send me an email and I will gladly add you to the list.

Now take a look at this awesome Mommy creation I received this weekend!!

"Thanks for such easy patterns." J

Here are some awesome Mommy creations using FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern! It was her daughter's first birthday dress and the theme was bubbles!! So cute!!!!! Both of your daughters are beautiful and your FAITH dress tops are adorable!!
